Ginger Storey is currently in her twenty-second year of teaching choral music. Originally from Andrews, she received her Bachelor of Music Education from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene and began her teaching career as the assistant choir director at Harlingen High School under the tutelage of Sheri Jaffurs. Two years later, she implemented the choral program at Memorial Middle School in Harlingen and spent three years building that program before moving back to her West Texas roots. Mrs. Storey was the head choir director at Bowie Junior High School for 15 years before moving to Permian High School as an associate director. Under her direction, her choirs have consistently received sweepstakes ratings at UIL, as well as Superior ratings and “Best In Class” awards at various festivals across the state. Professionally, she maintains membership in Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association and Sigma Alpha Iota. She has also been privileged to be the region clinician for Region 28 on two occasions, working with the 8th Grade Girls Choir in 2013 and with the 7th Grade Girls Choir in 2015.
Mrs. Storey is actively involved in the worship arts team at CrossRoads Fellowship where she and her husband, Alan, are members. In her spare time, she enjoys running and completed her first half marathon this past April. Mr. and Mrs. Storey live happy lives in Odessa with their dog Dottie!
